Service Delivers Comprehensive Solution For Credit Union Repossessions
ATLANTA – Manheim, the world’s largest remarketer of used vehicles, and Oregon
Community Credit Union announced today that Oregon Community will utilize Manheim’s
EasyStep Remarketing™, a professionally managed, comprehensive recovery and remarketing
program for credit union repossessions.
With EasyStep Remarketing, Oregon Community will significantly reduce the time and
coordination for recovery and liquidation of its repossessed collateral. Making that process more
efficient will help the credit union reduce costs and days to sale, while at the same time earning
higher sale prices for its repossessed vehicles.
“We’ve always employed best practices when liquidating capital,” said Jerry Liudahl,
vice president of lending for Oregon Community Credit Union, which serves more than 90,000
members in Northwest Oregon. “In researching the EasyStep program, it was apparent that the
service could improve our recovery time and reduce the cost of liquidating repossessed vehicles. With Manheim’s track record, this partnership made sense for us.”
EasyStep Remarketing is composed of three simple steps: Recovery of the asset, offer of
the asset to credit union members and finally, wholesale liquidation of the asset to auto dealers.
Recovery is managed by Manheim’s Recovery Solutions division, with a network of over 700
professional recovery agents nationwide. Next, Manheim’s remarketing division, Remarketing
Solutions, fully manages every aspect of the remarketing process, beginning with posting of the
vehicle to an Internet auction for sale to credit union members, powered by TitleAuctions, a
leading developer of online retail auction platforms. If the vehicle continues to be for sale, the final step is wholesale liquidation, beginning with Manheim’s Online Vehicle Exchange where the vehicle is exposed to 65,000 auto dealers from coast-to-coast via the Internet, and ending with running the vehicle through the wholesale auction lane. The vehicle remains for sale 24/7 throughout the entire process.
“EasyStep’s collaborative approach is very attractive to Oregon Community and other
credit unions,” said Liudahl. “Building a brand at vehicle sales is important and EasyStep
Manheim and Oregon Community CU aggregates credit union vehicles and runs them through the lanes
together under a unified brand, which in turn helps maximize returns. We’re optimistic about the results.”
“Oregon Community Credit Union has been a consistent remarketing innovator, and
we’re proud to be the credit union’s preferred remarketing partner,” said Jon Schrock,
Manheim’s director of national accounts.
